EMERY MINNARD, M.D.
Evologics Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Emery Minnard serves as Evologics Chief Medical Officer. A native of Lafayette, LA, Dr. Minnard earned his undergraduate degree at Xavier University in New Orleans before being accepted to Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. After completing his surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Dr. Minnard received his surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. During his residency he completed two years of cancer research at the University of Pennsylvania where he authored several papers in cell biology and signal transduction.
Dr. Minnard returned to Louisiana as an assistant professor of surgery at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport. There, he became very active in the state’s preventative and awareness initiatives in early detection and treatment with the aid of the American Cancer Society. After a brief period at Louisiana State University Medical Center, New Orleans, he began his private practice on the West Bank of New Orleans at West Jefferson Medical Center and Ochsner Medical Center West Bank Campus.
Dr. Minnard currently practices surgical oncology and general surgery at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank where he’s performed thousands of complex operations on cancer patients specifically related to breast, lung, colon and hepatobiliary tumors.
He has served as Chief of Surgery and now Chief of Staff at Ochsner Westbank. He also trains Tulane surgical residents and medical students from University of Queensland Medical School as a surgery instructor.
Dr. Andrew Billon, M.D., FACS

Dr. Andrew Billon is a distinguished general surgeon with over three decades of experience in the medical field. He currently serves as a General Surgeon with the Indiana Physician Group in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Dr. Billon’s journey in medicine began with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences from the University of North Dakota, followed by earning his Medical Doctorate from the American University of the Caribbean in 1984. He then completed his General Surgery residency at the Medical Center of Delaware, now Christiana Care, where he also served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Billon has held several prestigious positions throughout his career, including serving as a General Surgeon at Alex Juhasz M.D. General Surgery Associates and leading his own practice for 34 years. Since 2016, he has been a part of the Indiana Physician Group, where he continues to provide exceptional care to his patients.
Dr. Billon has played a crucial role in the development and use of amniotic tissue in gastrointestinal surgery through his leadership in conjunction with Evologics, an innovative amniotic tissue medical device company. He currently assists Evologics with research and educates other physicians on the effective use of amniotic tissue in surgical procedures.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Billon has been actively involved in professional leadership. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. His leadership roles include serving as Chairman of the Department of Surgery and the Department of Robotic Surgery at Indiana Regional Medical Center (IRMC). Currently, Dr. Billon holds the position of Medical Director of Indiana Ambulatory Surgery Center. He has also contributes to the education of future medical professionals by instructing students from LECOM, PCOM, and Duquesne University, as well as residents in the IRMC Family Practice Residency.
Dr. Billon is certified by the American Board of Surgery and has received specialized training in DaVinci Robotic Surgery. He brought the DaVinci Robotics Program to Indiana Regional Medical Center. His commitment to excellence in surgery and patient care has earned him a reputation as a leader in his field. He continues to be an active member of the IRMC Administrative Leadership Committee, where he plays a crucial role in guiding the future of surgical practices at the institution.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Billon enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife of 43 years, their four children, and four grandchildren. They live on a farm where they raise chickens, enjoy gardening and operating his tractor. In his free time, Dr. Billon enjoys cooking, reading, and outdoor activities such as biking, hunting, and fishing. His deep connection to his family and love for the outdoors reflect the same dedication and passion he brings to his medical practice.
BRIAN LADNER, M.D.
Evologics Orthopedic Surgeon Director/Advisor
Dr. Brian Ladner serves as Evologics Orthopedic Surgeon Director. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Mississippi State University in 2001 and his Doctor of Medicine in 2005 from the University of Mississippi Medical School. In 2010, Dr. Ladner completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He then completed a fellowship in trauma and adult reconstruction in the Harvard Orthopedic Department in Boston in 2011. Dr. Ladner practiced in Hammond, LA for eight years before joining the team at Ochsner.
His surgical interests include complex fracture care, joint replacement, and joint replacement revisions.

His strategic focus on innovation and operational excellence has enabled the company to stay at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry, ensuring that patients across the country have timely access to life-changing treatments.

Doug Helling

As the President of Evologics, Doug Helling brings more than 25 years of experience and leadership to the medical device and biologics distribution industry. Doug has dedicated his career to advancing patient outcomes by facilitating access to high-quality, innovative biologic therapies. He is deeply committed to expanding Evologics’ reach and impact, working to ensure that healthcare providers and patients have reliable access to life-changing treatments.
Doug’s extensive expertise spans supply chain optimization, compliance, operations and strategic partnerships, making him an integral part of Evologics. Under his leadership, Evologics has grown to be a trusted partner to hospitals, specialty clinics, and healthcare organizations nationwide, known for its commitment to safety, reliability, and patient-centered service.
A dedicated husband and father, Doug enjoys spending quality time with his family. He’s also a master griller, scuba diver and avid hunter that enjoys traveling around the globe with family and friends.
Wendy Reyes
CFO/COO
Wendy Reyes serves as both CFO and COO at Evologics. With more than 25 years management experience in multiple industries, Wendy is a dynamic, multifaceted leader who oversees the financial and operational performance of Evologics. Prior to joining Evologics, Wendy served as CFO for New Standard Device, a startup orthopedic hardware manufacturer, and COO for medical device distributor Venalife. She has also held positions in supply chain management, retail management, business administration, and product development.
At Evologics, Wendy is focused on overall company growth and success. She has built a strong team to support current and future growth and is a firm believer in ongoing employee development and cross-training. She has also developed processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and accuracy in inventory management, distribution, and invoicing. In 2024, she single-handedly oversaw the development and implementation of Evologics’ ERP software.
A perfectionist at heart, her personal and professional mission is to make good things great. Wendy lives in San Antonio, Texas, with her husband and their two youngest children. Most weekends she can be found on the floor of her living room with her youngest son, surrounded by Legos.
Theresa Hong
EDUCATIONAL DIRECTOR
Theresa Hong serves as the Educational Director and Chief Marketing Officer at Evologics, where her passion for bridging knowledge and compliance drives her work. With a unique blend of expertise in educational content creation and marketing, Theresa is dedicated to working with and empowering both surgeons and sales representatives with information that supports clinical excellence and patient outcomes.
Theresa’s role at Evologics centers on developing content that is not only educational but also fully compliant with industry standards. She has developed comprehensive educational and marketing resources that equip sales representatives with the knowledge they require to navigate the complex landscape of biologics with integrity and expertise. Her close collaboration with surgeons has been instrumental in fostering understanding of Evologics’ product offerings, ensuring healthcare professionals are informed and confident in their choices for patients.
Away from Evologics, Theresa enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law, and extended family and friends. On most weekends, you can find her in the kitchen cooking with lots of love, hosting family and friends.
Eda Brown
PURCHASING MANAGER
Eda Brown is a Purchasing Manager at Evologics. Her primary responsibility is managing inventory portfolios and monitoring inventory levels. Additionally, she serves as the lead for forecasting, placing/receiving orders, sourcing items, and vetting new suppliers. She works closely with the sales and distribution team to ensure all locations have sufficient product on hand to meet their needs.
Originally from Kaiserslautern, Germany, Eda has performed similar roles for international corporations in Munich and Cologne, making her an ideal and essential member of the Evologics team.
Away from the office, Eda enjoys traveling, going on family hikes, reading, exploring the Hill Country surrounding San Antonio.
Concepcion “Fonzie” Vasquez
DISTRIBUTION AND QUALITY MANAGER
Fonzie began his medical career in 2003. With more than 20 years of tissue banking experience, Fonzie has a passion for helping others and honoring the gift that enhances and improves lives through tissue donation. During his tenure, Fonzie has received several awards and has been commended for his customer service and sales abilities.
Fonzie began his career with the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center as a processing technician and tissue distribution coordinator/ recovery technician. During his tenure, STBTC experienced exponential growth both regionally and nationally. Fonzie brings his years of extensive experience to expand the evolving biologics industry to Evologics.
Karen Brady
ACCOUNTING ANALYST
Karen Brady is an Accounting Analyst with fifteen years of experience in accounts payables and accounts receivables. Karen is responsible for invoicing for Evologics and Ophthalogix, including end of month reports for Ophthalogix.
Karen is a positive and energetic individual in the workplace. Karen uses her positive attitude and energy to assist any area she can and to succeed in the company. Karen’s four children and one granddaughter are her daily inspiration. Karen enjoys working out, going to the movies, and hanging out, the kids or playing Uno. On Karen’s free time, she sees clients, as a licensed nutritionist.
Kenya Jones
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/ACCOUNT RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST
Kenya Jones is an administrative assistant and accounts receivables specialist with more than a decade of successful experience in collecting and managing phones, taking meetings as well as preparing documents. Kenya specializes in accounts receivables and is responsible for implementing new programs that increase company revenues across the board. Kenya also is very proactive in her administrative assistant role by thinking outside the box and resolving issues.
Kenya is a strong believer in the power of positive thinking at the workplace. She also enjoys a good movie, sports and traveling with her children.
Sebastian Fischer
SHIPPING AND DISTRIBUTION SPECIALIST
Sebastian Fischer is a Shipping and Distribution Specialist at Evologics where he oversees the seamless transportation of human tissue products, as well as managing inventory intake with accuracy.
By carefully coordinating logistics and adhering to safety guidelines, Sebastian guarantees that critical donations are delivered to healthcare providers. His dedication to maintaining the quality and integrity of our shipments is essential to the support of medical procedures and research that has the potential to improve and save lives.
Outside of work, Sebastian enjoys hiking, running, swimming, and going to the gym, which helps him stay balanced and energized. His dedication to both professionalism and personal growth plays a role in maintaining the quality of the products that support life-saving medical procedures and research.
Chance Watson
SHIPPING AND DISTRIBUTION SPECIALIST
Chance Watson is a Shipping and Distribution Specialist at Evologics, where he ensures the efficient and timely delivery of human tissue products while also managing the receiving inventory process. By overseeing logistics and maintaining strict compliance with safety regulations, Chance helps guarantee that critical tissue donations reach healthcare providers promptly. His meticulous attention to both shipping and receiving ensures the integrity of our products, which is essential for facilitating medical procedures and research that can save and improve lives.
Outside of work, Chance enjoys spending time at the lake, where he loves to golf and wake surf. These hobbies provide him with a perfect balance to his professional life, inspiring him to approach each day with energy and enthusiasm.
